A lazy holiday for us

It is holiday today. Big J sprained his leg during yesterday tennis game, so he hardly going anywhere today. Supposed to attend a friend’s church wedding in the morning, but we did not go. Thank god the pain in his leg subdue and did not swell this morning after taking some Chinese prescribed pills.

Yesterday I went to highlight my hair, I spent RM110 on my hair. Didn’t cut my hair since it is still that short, just highlight and treatment on it. Well, at least Big J did not comment much on the hair this time round. The last time I cut my hair short, he was a bit surprised at my decision and till today, he still miss my long hair! LOL!

As for today’s activities, since we did not attend my friend’s church wedding this morning, Little J, myself and SIL went for CNY shopping in the morning after breakfast. First, we dropped by The Spring to hunt for FIL’s shirt, then bought some clothing for Little J (it is always easy to buy children’s stuff than adult’s stuff as they are more irresistible) and then bought myself a pair of office shoes from Primevera.

Then we went to Jenny’s boutique in Jln Green to check out any good bargain, but to our surprises, not many people there. Nothing good there. Nevertheless I managed to buy a blouse and 2 pairs of pants from WD Boutique, which happen to be Jenny’s next door neighbour. I guess economy must be pretty bad; not much discount given by Jenny this year. Usually it was packed at this time of the year, that you cannot hardly squeeze among the crowds and hardly can find a vacant fitting rooms.
When we reached home around 130pm, Big J was busy tidying up the bedroom. He was cleaning up the bookshelf by sitting on the chair when I entered the room. Hmm, I have to admit. He is a better cleaner than I do!! *wink*

Alright, time to get ready for the wedding dinner tonight. Since it is a holiday today, usualy people are quite punctual when come to wedding dinners. We have missed our friend's church wedding, so we would not want to be late for the dinner tonight.

Lots of books for the bookworms

We visited The Times Book Fair at Permata in the morning after sending off Big J’s dad and sister at the airport. We arrived at the venue around 1030am, and thank god not many people around. I guess it is pretty early since it was a holiday yesterday.

We supposed to go to MV douglo last Sunday but we forget the time. When we reach there, it was not open yet, so we haven't go to the ship yet. We were at The Times for almost 2 hours scouting for books. Some books are so cheap that we have hard time decided what to get and not to get. Talking about good bargain! Of course the hard cover would be slightly expensive. Check out what we get from the fair!! RM320 worth of books! Hmm. Going to keep the receipt, can be used for tax exemption, right??

All the presents under the tree

Little J gets the most presents. Naturally it should be that way, since she is the only kid in the family. Lol! Look at all the presents she got from her family. When she went down to living room, she has to search her name among the presents. Of course with the help of her aunt, she able to locate her presents and having good time unwrap and play her presents!!

All is Disney merchandises, mostly Mickey Mouse since it is her favourite character. She got Minnie puppet, Mickey coin box, Mickey pillow, Minnie drum and Disney play house.

Stay up late

Watching her cartoons till 10pm almost every night now. I think Little J is turning into a couch potato. She can stick to television if her favourite cartoons are showing!

Now that she sleeps late, she doesn’t wake up in middle of night anymore, asking for her feeding. She will sleeps all the way till morning, usually wakes up around 630am. I wonder she will do the same when she starts schooling next year. But probably everything will be normal for her as she is going for half day session, so not so stressful for her. She still can take her afternoon nap at babysitter’s house.

Swaying in the car

Even in the car Little J cannot be sit still. Climbing up and down, chatting away and dancing to the music.

Mummy couldn't help but giggle at her antic!!

He is at it again

Big J used to control his drinking habit but now he is back to drinking after many years of trying. I guess old habits never change. Since started his new job in June this year, he spends most of the nights with his colleagues. And when men usually go after office hours?? Pub or café drinking and chatting!

It worries me a lot as he is gaining much weight now. The body is expanding sideway and the tummy! Oh dear! Look like he is 5 months pregnant. It is a concern on his health as he is way passed the healthy level, according to doctor. If Big J doesn’t do anything about his habit and weight, he may have some health problem soon.

To encourage him to lose some weight, I usually persuade him to go for tennis games, now that we are crazy about tennis again. And for his Christmas present, I bought him a new tennis racket since the current one is broken. If we not up to tennis game, we may opt for a swim in the evening. As you know that both activities depend much on the weather, we hardly been able to do much as it almost rain every day.

And guess what! Big J is into line dancing now these days! He has been taking up lesson for many weeks, he told me recently. Want to give me a surprise he said. Lol! A colleague teaches him and others to dance poco-poco in the office after office hour. He is so crazy about dancing that he burn the songs and even want to teach me to dance. Dancing is never my field but it is kind of fun dancing around the house with the Indonesian poco-poco song at the background. Lol!

If you ask me to choose, I would rather having him dancing in office and come back late than drinking the night away.

Her own tree

There is a tree she can proud to call her own! :) Little J loves Christmas trees. Everywhere she goes if she sees one, she will go over to the tree and admire it. I guess those decorative items on the tree attract her. So last night, we went to get a tree for her (sponsored by her grandma).

When we reached home around 10pm last night, she is still not sleepy and insisted on set up the tree. Mummy and aunty helping her out in putting the Christmas balls, and fairy light. We did not get the star to be put on the top as not much choice at the shop. So the star will be later. For time being, the tree is lighted in the corner of the living room. This morning when Little J woke up, she remember her tree and run straight down to the living room. Lol!

Little update from us

Oh dear! I have not been updating The Lings blog much recently. Some updates on the family but I am not going to run through in details.

Basically Big J and myself are busy with work and targets. Most of the weekdays we reached home after 7pm. Sometimes I am lazy to drive car to work, so will hitch his car. If he is having meeting in the evening, then I will have no choice but to wait for him to finish meeting to pick me up. There was once, when I have to wait for him till 730pm.

Little J is growing tall I have to say. Weight wise, she is around 13kg. She still not that adventurous when come to food. Hopefully everything will change once she starts schooling next year. Talking about schooling, both myself and Big J are excited for her. Every day, we would tell her about going to school. Now I even trained her to bring her bag with pencil, books and cds in it to be brought to baby sitter’s house. Now she knows she need to buckle up when in the car, but once a while, she is very naughty and does not want to be buckled to her seat. She is diaper free and know when she needs to go to loo. Save a lot on diaper, really!!

I am glad that she enjoys reading. If she bored with books when in the car, I will ask her to sing, Beside my radio, I have Little J to entertain me on the road. *wink* Basically that is much for the time being. We are enjoying the festive season with Christmas around the corner. Little J loves to sing "We wish you a Merry Christmas" and "Jingle Bell" and wish everyone "Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year".

Tails for her please

She may has a funny tastebud, but either way, my Little J just love fishes. Like her mummy. But unlike her mummy, she only like fried fishes. Those small fishes where you deep fried them to gold. And she only like to take the crispy part like the fish tails or stomach, where when you fry, they are so crispy.

When ever I called my mum telling her that we go back for dinner on Saturdays, my mum will prepare Little J’s favourite fishes. Just for her!! I don’t know the name of the fish, but it is the small local fishes, where you usually fry them. You can eat the whole fishes even the bones as the bones are soft. Sometimes Little J takes mackerel too, but the crispy part only!!

So when ever I am at my mum’s place, I will need to sort out the fishes for the crispy part like the tails. It is kind of funny as I will pick up the tails and leave the remaining parts on the plate. And when there is fish, she can finish a bowl of rice without nagging from her mummy!!

1st Christmas tree

Our tree

Last Sunday, we forgo our afternoon nap and instead we went to Big J’s office to set up the Christmas tree. Big J brought his own tree to the office, since there was no space in the house for display. We bought lots of ornaments such as crystal balls, silver and blue balls, wrap, wreath, fairy light etc.

Little helper putting up the silver ball

So last Sunday afternoon three of us spent almost 2 hours in the office decorating the Christmas tree. Little J helped out too, although more nuisance than helping but we are glad that she enjoyed putting up the balls on the tree.

When is right time for sex?

In any relationship, sex is one of the important ingredients in ensuring success of the relationship. To avoid much headache and heartache, one must take the right steps in knowing when it is the right time to have sex

#1
Talk about sex with your partner. Find out what he or she thinks and honestly state your position. If it is uncomfortable, then sex will be too

#2
Think how much you know your partner. Sex is nothing but trust and intimacy, so make sure you have that with each other beforehand.

#3
Ask yourself how passionate you are about your partner.

#4
Date for a while. Be comfortable with each other before going further

#5
Little things like hugs and kisses are good indicators that sex is an appropriate set.

#6
Always think of safe sex. Take the necessary precautions so sex can be enjoyable, both during and afterwards

#7
Relax. Do not anticipate much, just have fun

Ready for bed

Just got back from The Spring. Drove my FIL and little J for some early Christmas stuff to be brought back to Kapit by FIL tomorrow.

Oh boy, sure lots of cars when we reached The Spring, thought there is some big sales going in there. Apparently one of the carpark entrance was closed and every cars jamming to squeeze into one car park entrance. It took us about 15 minutes to go down into the basement and thank god we managed to find a parking bay.

Many people shopping in Tai Khiong tonight. I seldom go shopping for grocery and sundry during weekday so I never expect many people around. Guess every day is a shopping day, not only on Saturday and Sunday. Lol!

Little J is behind me now, playing her block toys after finished her milk. She is more obedient now, understand when it is time for her not to disturb her mummy, leave her alone updating her blog. *wink* When she is tired, she will keep all her toys and go to her bed without making any noise. I must admit my Little J is really growing up! Lol!

Caught in the act

This must be Little J's worst and unlady-like pose so far that I even caught her in! Well, who told her to mess up the bed. So here is my proof of her popping and tearing up the parking coupon in her aunty's bed, then arranging them all on her bed. And aunty did not know about this incident till now. LOL!

Of course in the end, the mummy has to be the one doing all those clearing, who else. I just don't understand her, just love to tear all those numbers. Everytime she saw on in my car, she will try to get to it and without my knowledge, quietly tearing them at the back of the car. Sigh!

Smarter than you thought

Don’t you think your kids are smarter and cheekier than you? They know what is computer at young age while you may only know how to use keyboard when you were in school back then.

Everyone said it is the milk they take that make them smarter. Guess all those DHA formulas really work for our kid’s brain development. Sometimes my Little J amazes and surprises me with her antic and words. Example like the other day when I brought her for her booster shot of Hepatitis A:

Mummy : Let’s go to clinic.
Little J : Ai yo! Mummy go for injection
Mummy : Not mummy, you go for injection
Little J : (touching her butt) Don’t want, butt painful.
Mummy : No, doctor will inject your arm.
Little J : (touching her arm) Don’t want, I wanna go to nanny’s house.

Hai ya! I shouldn’t have told her that I was bringing her for injection, because after that, she reluctant to get out from the house and took quite some times to persuade her to go. LOL!

Another scene was after sending her aunty at the airport.

Little J : Where is gu gu (aunty) going?
Mummy : Gu gu sit in airplane
Little J : Gu gu sit in airplane go KL (she used to us saying going to KL each time we flew)
Mummy : No. Gu gu go to Sibu

After few hours, tele-conversation with her grandma

Little J : Hello Ah Ma.
Ah Ma : Hi Little J. Gu gu?
Little J : Gu gu sit airplane, go Sibu

She remembers that her aunt going to Sibu. Don’t say kids have short term memories, okay?

What is beautiful?

Look at my Little J!! She even paint her own nail polish! Some kids, they sure know how to look beautiful, don't you think?

Girls are always girls, they more receptive to colours and tend to dress and want to look beautiful. When I ask Little for photoshot, she posed like the above. LOL!

My nagging continue...

Read in today newspaper that one of the old shops (almost 500 years old) in Gambier Street was burnt down during last night’ heavy rain. We were stuck at my parents’ house when the rain strikes around 6pm. Thunders and lightning were hitting like crazy and my parents’ front car pouch was flooded with water that cannot flush away faster than it rained.

The weather here has been crazy for the past 1 week. Rained almost every evening. Guess the year end raining season is finally here. And there goes our weekly jogging and swimming in the evening. I think we have to think of a new sport activities, maybe indoor type as it is hardly favourable to have much outdoor activities nowadays. And Big J has been complaining of lack of exercises. His tummy is growing bigger, almost 5 months old pregnant! LOL!

I have been nagging about his eating and drinking habit, always eat late and mostly take meat. If I ever cooked at home, the meat will be mostly stir-fried with less oil or cook in soup. And vegetables is a must in the menu. Maybe due to his work, he has started to drink again. Beer! Yeah! That is where is tummy come from. There were times when he was fitter, cutting down on beer and night life but now he is on roll again. Excuses? Got to entertain friends and customers! Sigh! It makes me worry and I think I no need to guess how his blood test result should be when he even goes to one.

I love scribbling!

I love to scribble on papers, books and on anything as long as I can write on them! LOL! You can say that I am a super scribbler. Even my boss commented that my diary (yes we have diary to write on and everytime she will check on my diary to see the contents) is very useful and I am good at scribble everything on it! *wink*

So when I got this Superior Scribble Award from Little Prince, I am more than happy to receive it! LOL! The rules every Superior Scribbler will name 5 other Super Scribblers. If you are named you must link to the author & the name of the blog that gave you the award. Then you must display the adorable award and link to This Post, which explains The Award. Finally you must visit this post and tell your name to Mr. Linky List. Then they will have a record of all the people who are Super Scribblers! Now, I am passing this award to Jen and Didi. I bet you girls are super scribblers too!

Hairy fruit

Everywhere people sell durians. On the roadside, on a lorry or even in the wet market. Durian is everywhere, and smell of durian in the house cannot be mistaken and get rid of easily. My house is smell of durian for the past few days.

I don’t fancy durian much, but there is a fruit that I love. It has been ages since I tasted one. Rambutan! Yes, the hairy fruit with juicy white flesh. I love to taste the yellow skin rambutan. Somehow the flesh is thicker and juicier than the flesh of a red skin rambutan.

Now I have a sore throat, must be from eating too much rambutan. Either that or I get some virus from Little J who just recovered from her cough and fever. LOL

Cost of schooling

Took Little J to a taska this morning, thought of checking out on the environment, programmes and fees involved. I never know that most taska do not cater for Saturday classes. This one is one of them that only open 5 days a week.

Fortunately when we reached there around 10am, they were open for some graduation rehearsal. RM800.00 deposit needed to enroll Little J in the next year classes. Not so sure on the monthly fee and insurance as subject to changes every year. For time being, they are around RM300 and RM80 respectively. All those do not include the school uniforms which cost around RM30 per set. Judging from everything, school fees are also in increasing trend. Wow! Really not cheap to put a child to school, don’t you think so? I would need to check out on another taska which is nearby for some comparison first before deciding which taska to put my Little J in.

As for her, she just feels at home, playing with the slide and swing, in regards to the teachers. When ask her does she want to go to school, her immediately reply is “yes”. Much to our amusement, she was nagging and wailing in the car when we on the way to taska, as the taska is somewhere near her baby sister’s house. She was wailing as she thought that we wanted to send her to her baby sister. Talking about a 2 ½ years old child, she does know her sense of direction and whereabout pretty well. But once we reached the taska, her mood is better and not in the hurry to leave when it was time to leave. LOL!

Ready for schooling? Little J's cute Barney bag (the Barney can be taken out).

Back from the beach

Just gone back from The Spring, after having dinner at Sushi King. Luckily we reached there early and there were some vacant seats. We ordered the set dinner plus few sushi platters.

In my previous post, I were saying that we are going to the Damai Resort for an overnight stay. We reached Damai around 2pm on Saturday afternoon. Little J was sleeping throughout the 45 minutes drive. When we reached there, Little J has woke up.

Little J posed before heading to the beach

After unpacked our stuff and refreshed ourselves, we went to the beach around 5pm. Both Big J and Little J went for a swim while I took the time for a stroll and take few shots of the beach. Btw, it was Little J’s first time to Damai, so I took lots of shots of the beach and hers this time round. The weather was great although occasional rain drop.

Helping daddy unwrap the present

In the evening, we went to the Treez for my company dinner. And Big J won himself a big present in the Malta drinking competition. LOL! He won a box of detergent.

Mummy and little gal having a game of mini golf

Our activity this morning included a stroll along the beach, breakfast and mini golf. Little J was not playing golf, but more like playing hockey with one hand. LOL. Although it was a 10-hole course, we gave up at the 5-hole as we cannot stand the heat plus Little J was “cheating” along the way. Hardly giving her parents chance to hit the ball at all! LOL! We departed from Damai at 12noon.

We are off to the beach for a night

The Ling is going to Damai Beach tomorrow. Yes! A family day organized by my company. Each staff entitled to bring 1 adult and 2 kids, so I am bring Big J and Little J along. Just pay RM90 only for a one night stay. Reasonable right?

I haven’t pack for the trip. Nothing much to bring, but the most important thing is to remember to bring Little J’s swimsuit. She loves to play with water. I guess all children are, right? Leisure and easy is in the programme. There will be a buffet dinner cum lucky draw in the evening. And the theme? Pirate of the Carribeans. So we got to dress up to the occasion. *wink*

A tiring week

Wake up, go to work, come back and sleep. Hardly have energy to play and do things with my Little J. And our bedroom is a mess too. I have not been cleaning and mopping the floor for 1 week. I will do it tomorrow, no matter what!!

Sigh! After back from work, all I can think of is rest. Big J also sleep early now these days, I guess work taking a toll on him as well. But usually before we dozed off, we will update each other on works and happenings. Big J just got confirmed by his company after 3 months. It is a call for celebration, but that would have to be postponed to other day when he got his pay cheque. LOL.

New role of Little J: Take care of little sister

Everyone keep asking me when I am going to have a 2nd baby. OMG! I just change my job less than 2 months ago, so for the time being, having baby will be at the back of my mind. But sometimes I pity Little J as she is alone, play by herself with no one to share her toys and stuff. Sigh! Both Big J and myself have 2 other younger siblings respectively. When we were small, the house is always full of noise and fighting around, but that is the fun of having younger siblings, where we shared good and bad times together.

Maybe my Little J is big enough to understand having a younger sibling around? Now she is acting like “Big Sister”, looking after the little one. Little J is very fond of her younger cousin (who is exactly 1 year younger than Little J). Whenever they met, Little J will kiss her cousin non stop either on the cheek, mouth or forehead. LOL! What an affection!

She even look after her cousin, holding her hand and direct her around, making sure her cousin is not wondering here and there. Aren’t they cute?

10 commandments in marriage

Got this email from a friend. Disclaimer : I am not discouraging you to get married, and the following are for reading pleasure only

COMMANDMENT 1

Marriages are made in heaven.
But so are thunder and lightning.

COMMANDMENT 2

If you want your wife to listen and pay strict attention to every
Word you say, talk in your sleep.

COMMANDMENT 3

Marriage is grand -- and divorce is at least 100 grand!

COMMANDMENT 4

Married life is very frustrating.
In the first year of marriage, the man speaks and the woman listens.
In the second year, the woman speaks and the man listens.
In the third year, they both speak and the neighbors listen.

COMMANDMENT 5

When a man opens the door of his car for his wife, you can be sure
Of one thing: Either the car is new or the wife is.

COMMANDMENT 6

Marriage is when a man and woman become as one;
The trouble starts when they try to decide which one.

COMMANDMENT 7

Before marriage, a man will lie awake all night thinking about
Something you say. After marriage, he will fall asleep before you
Finish.

COMMANDMENT 8

Every man wants a wife who is beautiful, understanding, economical,
And a good cook. But the law allows only one wife.

COMMANDMENT 9

Marriage and love are purely matter of chemistry.
That is why wife treats husband like toxic waste.

COMMANDMENT 10

A man is incomplete until he is married.
After that, he is finished..

BONUS COMMANDMENT STORY
A long married couple came upon a wishing well.
The husband leaned over, made a wish and threw in a penny.
The wife decided to make a wish too.
But she leaned over too much, fell into the well, and drowned.
The husband was stunned for a moment but then smiled and said,
Hey! This thing really works!

Thinking for a perfect present

When it comes to present, I hate thinking of what to buy. Nothing seemed good, especially when the present is meant for the loved one. You get what I mean?

Big J’s birthday is coming up next month, and I have yet plan to buy anything for him. For the past years, either I bought him a wallet, belt or shirt, or treat him to a nice Western 3-course dinner but I am planning of getting something different for him.

He did indicated that he planned to get new wallet for himself as his current one not in good condition. Some part of the wallet is torn due to many loose papers and ringgit notes stacked. LOL! How come his wallets spoiled so fast? I think he keeps changing his wallet almost once a year, mine still can last longer than that!!!

Hmm, what should I get for him? I want something different for him this year. Anyone can give me some tips? What do you get for your hubby on his birthday?

CBK (holy ****)

3 weeks I didn’t see Little J, and how fast she grows. Taller, but side way, not much flesh on her. Glad that she was well taken care of during my absence.

From far away, I knew Little J was happy to see me as she was smiling and running toward me. But she did not run into my arms but to Big J instead. I guess she must be angry with me for deserting her for 3 weeks. But after few second, she hugged and kissed me! *sob* How I miss her!!

Not only that she was slightly taller, she also learnt many new songs and words! And guess what, she learn to speak foul words! Holy shit! I almost fainted when she said foul words on Sunday repeatedly. The more we scolded her, the more she said it. So in the end we just ignored her.

How fast children can learn and that cover foul languages as well. So next time, please refrain from swearing in front of young children as they learn fast!!! Now everytime, Little J said the foul words, we just told her it is not good and good girl will never say such words!!

I am going to miss her a lot

I am still in Kuching, getting ready to take my flight to KL this afternoon. My Air Asia flight is 1245pm. Oh boy! I started to have butterflies in my stomach as this is my first time going away by myself. I must be too dependent, having Big J or friends along in the past. Sigh! This time round, I would be going solo, having to use bus from LCCT to KL Sentral then monorail to city area to reach my hotel.

The worse part is that I started to miss Little J. I am not flying and yet I already miss her a lot. My eyes even start to go watering while I make this post. Gosh. I am going to miss her voice, laughter, giggles, kisses and hugs. I wish 3 weeks would pass fast and go easily on my part.

For the past few days I seldom spend much time with her at night, as my MIL and SIL help me to pick her up from babysitter and take care of her on my behalf, while I work late. It makes me more guilty of leaving her behind for the next 3 weeks. Sigh!

*kiss, kiss, and kiss*

Little J, be a good girl and listen to your Ah Ma and aunty. Mummy is going to miss you. And sorry mummy cannot celebrate Mid-Autumn and play lanterns with you this year on the actual day. Hope you like the lanterns and enjoy playing with them. :)

My little adult

She may be 2 years old plus, but she is as cheeky as a young girl! Now she has her own mindset and behavior, sometimes she can be a nuisance to mummy and daddy. When she wants something, she will nag at you. Thank god so far she hasn’t make a big scene by crying or rolling on the floor, as I heard that some kids do that!! She only nag at you by repeating the same thing and tugging at your body.

When ever we scold her, Little J will talk back by saying “Go home” and going straight for the door. What? Who taught her that? It sounds like she is threatening us by running away from home. Don’t you think so?

Not only she knows how to threaten us, she even know how to praise people. When she sees her mummy or aunty dressed up, she will come to them and say how beautiful they are! Faint! It is flattering but sometime it is amusing to hear the praise from a young child. As young as her age, she already starting to admire make-up kit and even trying to apply on herself. There is one book where there are few colours on a particular page. One day, daddy caught Little J pretending to put colour on her face by applying colour from her book! When daddy asked her what is she doing, she hurry closed her book and pretend nothing is happening. Hmm. I really don’t know what is in her mind. Is she a young girl that is growing up or a little adult in a young girl’s body?

Marriage-savvy

Like in all Disney stories, the prince and princess lived happily ever after. But real life marriage is not a fairy tale and doesn’t work that way. With increasing rate of marriages ending in divorces, it is crucial for couples to ensure their marriages work.

Before they take the important step in sealing the vow of marriage, some issues are best discussed first hand to avoid conflict and misunderstanding in the future:

Money Issue
Money is always one of the factors that affect a marriage. Discuss well before marriage on how both of you can budget your money. List down the basic expenditure and either you share some of the expenditure or one person responsible for certain items.

Conflict solving
Conflicts and disagreements are part and parcel of marriages. Do not try to change your spouse into some one you want them to be because it wouldn’t happen. Do not used hurtful words that you may regret later. Respect and understand each other.

How many children should we have?

Before married, Big J has said that he wish to have 3 children where as I want to stick to 2. We are still working on the number but the important issue here is to discuss on how many children both of you would like to have. Having children is hard and can put a toll on your relationship in later stage. It is impossible for parents to maintain intimacy in relationship.

Live with different faiths
Religion defines belief, behaviors, values and lifestyle. I am from a family that practice Buddhist while Big J is a Christian. Conflicts do arise in an inter-faith marriage, but sit down and discuss on how to deal with different practices. We have to respect each other and making adjustment.

In-laws and own family
It is not just you and your spouse but each other families too. They can be a blessing as well as distraction to your new family. Keep in mind no matter how much our extended family drives us crazy, they are there to enrich our lives and children’s lives immeasurably

Time for each other
Romance in a relationship lasts for about 6 months to 1 year. When couples marry, the challenge is to maintain that passion for a life time. Making times for each other despite busy work schedule. Even better, get someone to baby-sit your children and you and spouse can have some personal time together.

Sunrise in Sematan

We just reached Kuching from Sematan. We departed from our chalet around 730am and reached Kuching at 945am. Some photos to be shared with you!

Broken shells washed ashore

Sematan beach facing the big ocean

We woke up around 6am this morning, so we can go for a walk on the beach to view the sunrise. We hardly can see the sunrise, but I manage to take some good shot of the sky. It was a breezing walk on the beach.

The management put up a lot of sign on falling coconuts

Holiday is what we need

Yes! Yes! Weekend is around the corner and I can’t wait for it to arrive soon. Why? Because Big J told me last night that we are going to Sematan for a night stay. Swimming, sun-bathing and having fun with Big J and Little J on the sandy beach is what I am looking forward to!

Amid all the excitement, I hope I will remember to take some shots of the beautiful beach once we are there. *wink* 1st Sept is a holiday. So, what you would be doing over the long holiday?

What's in news?

Mummy doesnt read Chinese, so Little J is learning to read Chinese at young age. Not only books, but Little J reads Chinese newspapers, on the current news, celebrities gossip, sports and politics. Next time, when she grows up, she can read newspapers to her mummy. *wink*

Oh boy, reading Chinese is tougher than English. You cannot see the ABC in Chinese, but many strokes here and there!

Horsh???

Little J came to me and saying “hos, horsh”. Hmm, I wonder what is she trying to say to me. Close??? Close what? She keeps saying “horsh” and I keep guessing what she wants. Then she ran to the corner of the room where the radio is.

At the background, I heard the cd playing children song. There was a horse neighing. Oh, now I know. She was trying to say “horse”. Sorry, Little J. Mummy cant register the word in first place.

Little J's going to be a 2 years and 4 months toddler

Little J is everyone’s princess at home. She can be cheeky and mischievous, but sometimes she can be shy like any other young girls when you compliment her. Other day, she will behave when you ask her to do so.

She has not gone to pre-school but we are enrolling her next year. Meaning we have to search and survey pre-schools around the city pretty soon. She may not be going to school yet, but luckily for us her baby sitter is great in teaching her. She is the only care, so Little J has the full attention of her time. Baby sitter teaching her to read and sing.

Some little update of Little J:

Speech – mixed of Chinese and English. When you ask her something in Chinese, she replies you in English and vice versa. Her famous English sentence is “what’s this (thing) doing here?”. There were times when she acted like adult, looking at me saying “what’s this doing here?” on pieces of loose papers on the computer table. Then she exclaimed “Oh my god!” and walk away. OMG! Does that mean the table is messy and mummy needs to clean up??

Recite ABC and 123 – she knows all the alphabets, capital and small letters. She still need some work out on her numbers, although she can remember some of them. Sometimes she can mistake number “5” for letter “S” and “6” for “G”. Cant blame her, as they look similar, right?

Singing – Little J has master the “2 tigers” (Chinese children song). But still cannot enter the children singing contest lah! *wink* Other songs that she loves and still learning to sing is “Twinkle Twinkle Little Star” (only can sing the first 2 verses), “London Bridge is falling down” (she only sing the “falling down” part, then shout “My fat lady” instead of “My fair lady”) and ABC song (jumble up here and there along the way…).

Food – she is still not that adventurous when come to food. She likes fishes (like her mummy). I found out while taking care of her for the past few days that she like to take deep-fried fishes. We have to really deep-fried the fish (we used mackerel pieces) for her. And not only that! We need to peel off the side of fishes that crunchy especially the stomach part for her. If any white flesh, she will peel out the flesh herself!! A very choosy young eater. To trick her to eat her rice, we will put the crunchy fish piece on a spoonful of rice so she can see it. Then she will willing eat it and finish the bowl of rice. *faint*

Animal lover – She loves cats. But not so much for dogs. My mum has a cat at home and instead of greeting her grandpa and grandma first, she will look for the cat and call out “hi meow meow!” She not even scared of the cat, but the cat is scared of her because there was once when Little J step on her.

Bicycle – Little J still cant cycle her bicycle. Only know to step on the pedal and use her feet to move around.

Moody self – When ever she woke up from her sleep, she would be very moody. Sometimes crying for no particular reason, just want me to hug and carry her around.

Dry up – at last!! No more wetting. Little J is diaper-free most of the day. She only used diaper when we go out to somewhere far or takes longer hours and when go to bed. We are slowly putting her off diaper soon at night.

Colours – Her favourite colours would be the red, yellow and green. She is my traffic light instructor, telling me when to go and stop. Other colour she can associate is blue, black, pink and orange but not white!! Hmm, maybe white is too boring?

While in the car

Latest photograph of Little J. This shot taken while we on our day back. She can be naughty and jumping around in the car, but once a while, she can be a good girl, reading her book, counting numbers and reciting her ABC.

Baby sitter on leave

Little J’s baby sitter is on leave, going somewhere. It is school holiday now, so I believe she is going somewhere with her daughter. So I am stuck with Little J for the next 3 days. *wink* Yeap, I am taking leave to baby sit her myself. Luckily I have my sister-in-law as my companion or I will be really sticking to Little J the whole day. I need to go back to clinic again this morning to consult the doctor and continue with my medical check up. Sometimes I feel like Little J is gluing to my leg, following me around. Hardly have a breathing space. Sigh!

Do you believe that your little one know the day of the week? This morning, Little J said to me “Go to Aunty’s house.” She knows it is Monday today, as yesterday was Sunday and she didn’t go to her baby sitter’s house (unless I work on Sunday).

I was just telling Little J this morning if she is good girl and allow mummy to play computer (meaning online), I promise to play with her later. Now she is nagging behind my back ask me to play with her. Okay, got to leave now and entertain my little princess first. See you guys later.

My new baby

My latest addition to my toys collection. Let’s me introducing to you Upsy Daisy. She can sing and talk and I love to hug and bring her around. I fall in love with her at first sight.

Kissing my baby

She is my baby and I love playing with her. A press on her stomach, she will sing, giggle and talk like a baby to you.

Men and sex

You may think that men want sex all the time, right? You would be surprise that it is not always the case. Surprise, surprise!!!

That is a common misunderstanding and it is based on the mistaken belief that men are wired to want sex whenever they can get it.

Here are some interesting (but true) reason why men reject sex (taken from HealthToday):

Medication
Antidepressants are often the culprit when a man has a lowered interest in sexual activity.

Lack of sleep
The opportunity to have sex will often overwhelm the desire to sleep for younger men. This is also often true when a relationship is brand new. But as people age, sex lose its compelling attraction and sleep seem more tempting.

Hormonal levels
Testosterone level is relevant to how much sex he desires.

Quality over quantity
Some men will rather avoid sex altogether than to have sex that is not fulfilling to them.

Stress
Stress comes in many forms and may stem from financial difficulties, personal or family problem.

Disagreement
When you are in argument most of the time, men will avoid sex or just plain refuse their partner’s advance.

If your man does not want sex, the worst thing you could do is to criticize or belittle his manhood. Find out the cause of his lack of interest, when necessary, obtain professional help.

Our girl is growing up

Once a while we just love to look back at our family album, particularly Little J when she was a baby. The memories that come with all those photographs. The other day, while we were sorting out the old photographs of her, Big J was commenting to me that Little J is growing up very fast and hard to believe that she is already 2 years old plus. He feels guilty on not spending much time with her and sad as she is not close to him. Sigh!
But I admit Little J is growing up and she has her own personality. A hard-headed girl (like her mummy), cheeky (like her daddy) and adorable (she has a bit of our facial when we were babies, according to our parents). Luckily both parents (my parents and PIL) took a lot of baby photographs, so we have chance to compare ours with Little J's pictures. Sometimes she looks like Big J but other days, she looks so much like me.

Paint Attack!

Big J has gone to Santubong on one fine Sunday afternoon. Not for a swim at the beautiful Santubong or Damai beaches, mind you, but to play paintball. Initially I was envy of him for having so much fun and me staying with Little J at home, but after seeing him with all those paints on his shirts and pants, I had second thought. Believe me, it is painful being shot by the pellets.

Few paintball enthusiastic friends gathered together that day and divided into 2 groups. With paintball gun and loaded with colour pellets in their arms, they ran into the juggle and headed to the battlefield. Big J was complaining regardless of the fun, it was challenging and dangerous to crawl and walk into the jungle as some paths were rather slippery. Big J tripped on one occasion resulted on him having bruises all over his body.

After many rounds of pellets flying all over the places, the emerging champion was Big J’s team. His team won but Big J got his share of paints as he was attacked by 2 enemies at the final tie. His first time playing paintball, but Big J said he would love to play another game next time. It is not just an attack and defense game, according to him, but about team work and survival in the jungle. When he reached home that evening, he was too tired that he did not have energy to take bath and almost crawl to bed. Let’s say he is lethargic till he just wants to do or eat nothing. That night, he slept like a baby till the next morning without a stir.

Depressed women turns to their girlfriends

When you feel like having a shoulder to cry on, would you turn to your boyfriends or girlfriends? Studies reveal that depressed women that go to boyfriends for comfort will end up even more depressed. Why? Generally men will shunned from comforting their girlfriends as they do not really know how to deal with such situation and give advices to their depressed girlfriends.

Depression is common among women than men. It is generally defined as two or more weeks of symptoms that can include feelings of hopelessness, anxiety, insomnia or oversleeping and eating disorder.

Young women struggling with depression often seek emotional support from their boyfriend. However they are not doing themselves any favours. Boyfriends tend to detach themselves from depressed girlfriends while female friends move in closer to provide a shoulder to cry on. The more depressed a girl becomes, the less supportive her boyfriend is and the more supportive her girlfriend is.

Girlfriends will not hesitate to knock at your doors and comfort you when you are in distress. The research also shown that levels of support went up among close female friends and dropped among boyfriends during times of depression. The support from girlfriends is soothing as they are more comfortable about being empathetic and listening, Many girlfriends like being caretakers and caregivers. With boys when a fiend of theirs is down, they may retreat more from the relationship

So, turn to your girlfriends if you want to feel better. Girlfriends are for keeping.

Gardening after 2 weeks

After 2 weeks, no sign of tomatoes in our garden. I guess the tomato planting project failed for both Big J and Little J. Never mind, the most important thing is that Little J has fun and daddy and daughter spending some good time together.

My Saturday

Here I am on a Saturday afternoon. Hardly 30 minutes of my beauty sleep, I was rudely awaken by Big J when he just back from his office. Yeah, he is working 5 days a week, but still very committed and go back to his office on Saturdays.

It is also a working Saturday for me, and I just go myself a hair cut. Yes! Totally trimming off my long locks, my head feels very light. Just a bit not get used to it for the time being.

Since I cant sleep (you know I am a light sleeper), I thought I go blog hopping and visit some of my friend’s blogs. Missing you all.

It rains pretty heavy now. We did not have rain for almost a week here so it feels heaven to have such rain on a Saturday afternoon. It has been like oven when we stepped out of our air-conditioned bedroom. The temperature is soaring here. Hopefully the rain will cool down the temperature a bit.

We are going to have a relaxing Saturday evening later. Planning to bring MIL for a shopping and dinner later. She is going back tomorrow morning, so we are trying to spend as much time with her. Last night, me and Little J follow her and my sis-in-law visiting around. We stopped at an aunty’s house, checking on her as she just undergo an operation. Glad that she is alright. Then, we make a stop at a cousin’s apartment, wanting to see her 1 year old plus daughter. Boy! Kids really grow up fast. The cousin’s daughter can walk and she is even more cheeky than my Little J. But both made up an adorable pair. Unfortunately I didn’t bring any camera to take shot of both girls. Next time!!!

Who is coming?

My MIL will be coming over tomorrow afternoon. A short visit this time round. Actually coming over to visit her sister who recently undergo an operation.
At the same time, visit her beloved granddaughter that she misses so much. *wink* She will be staying till Sunday only then go back to Kapit. She can't take longer leave as need to work and look after her business.

Diaper-free at home

Latest update: Little J

I am getting her off her diapers at home more often now as she will be going to school next year. So I don’t want her to put on diapers when go to school next year. She has been diaper-free at her babysitter’s house since last year. It is just that I don’t have the confidence to do so at home till last week.

There were 2 occasions where she wet herself in the living room on the first trial. She just too absorbed in her cartoon and when she has the urge, it was already too late. *laugh* However as each day passed by, she getting better. I kept asking her every minute whether she wants to relieve herself or not.

I have never knew that it is so much fun teaching your children to be diaper-free. Once a while you will feel frustrated especially when she wet herself, but it is satisfying to know that she knew when to go to the toilet to relief herself. Even when I am not around, Little J knows how to take off her pants and go to toilet herself.

Surfing in the room

Finally we have our streamxys in our room. The feeling is just great.

The plan to install streamxys has been at the back of our “to-do” list as we don’t have times to go through those necessary procedures and register. After reading Jen’s story on her unpleasant encounter with the Streamxys staff, I was even more reluctant to register. Luckily Big J took the initiate and has the patience to do so as he needs to go online pretty often at night. Part of his job scope, he said.

So, the problem now is to come to an agreement on the schedule, divide time between both of us on whom should use the computer on certain nights. Better say it clearly now, otherwise later we may end up fighting over the computer. *wink* But I guess I will give priority to Big J since he needed it more for work than I do.

She needs extra 2kg

Paediatrician advised for Little J to put on additional 2kg as she is slightly on underweight level. Her current weight is 13kg. Her paediatrician said 15kg would be ideal for her age.

Hmm, she is still very much of a picky eater, only eat certain food. Not a very adventurous toddler when come to food either. She may touch and taste the food on the table, but if she doesn’t like them, she will throw them out and put them away. It takes one’s patience to feed her a bowl of rice.

Wonder what else should I do to encourage her to try new food?? When will she pass that stage? I hope it will not persist till her schooling age as she will be going to pre-school next year. I would love to see her put on some extra weight by then.

She has her way

She knows that I don’t like her to sit in front of tv for longer period but she has a way to go around the rules.

Little J will use her aunty when she wants to go to the living room to watch her cartoons. First thing in the morning, she will jump from the bed and heading to her aunty’s room. She will start to pester her aunty by bumping her butt on the door and calling her to come out from the room or let her in. I guess she cannot be heard if she knocks using her hand, so instead she will bump at her door with her butt. *laugh* She knows her aunty wakes up pretty early and will bring her down to the living room.

So every morning, she will stay in the living room alone watching cartoons while I get ready for work. Sometimes Big J will accompany her if he wakes up early. Just thank god once Little J sticks to cartoon shows, she will become a couch potato, stick on the sofa, not move an inch there. So I know that she is safe in the living room alone.

Rain, rain, go away

It just feels like year-end weather in Kuching. Rain is a common sight. It rains almost every afternoon and evening here. No exception on last night as hardly much sun yesterday.

I was playing lego with Little J on Friday evening in the room when suddenly the rain started again around 9.00pm. Coincidently Big J just reached home. I was mumbling to Little J that it rained again and going to be a cold night. Then she looked at me and started to sing “Rain, rain, go away. Come again another day”. I was stunned for a while.

I guess Little J thought I didn’t hear her properly, so she repeated her song again! *laugh* By then, I was so happy to hear her singing new song that I called out for Big J to hear her sing. *Shy* It was pity that neither I nor Big J know how to sing the song, otherwise we will sing along with Little J. I know that it is an old song and I heard it before, but I cannot remember how to sing it. I guess I have to start browsing through all those children songs, or I will have another round of surprises when she started blabber some songs again.

Commitment in relationships

Your man may loves and adores you but he may not take it easy when ask him to commit himself fully to you. Try the following steps to make it easy for him:

1) Make it easy for him to confide in you by listening without giving him advice or criticising him.
2) Make your man feel special by showing him that you love him for himself alone.
3) Try to be natural.
4) Give your man the sense that he can keep his freedom - at least to a reasonable degree.
5) Don't let him do too much for you or spend too much, (even if he volunteers).
6) Don't make your man jealous as a device to build his interest in you.
7) Insist on sexual fidelity once you feel you need it.
8) Help your man to accept the fact that he needs you and loves you.
9) After a few months, insist that your man introduce you to his family and friends and to anyone important in his life.
10) Guard against giving your man more than you really want to over a long period of time

Little gardener at work!

Beware! Little gardener is at work in the garden. Found it irresistible not to take picture of her digging soil into flower pot. She just loves helping her daddy in doing some gardening. Now that is what I call a daddy’s good helper. *wink*

I have my first bicycle. A present from grandpa and grandma. What do you think? Do I look stylish on it? It has a compartment in front, so I can keep my stuff in it too.

A night out

A colleague of Big J is celebrating birthday tonight. I am invited to his karaoke party at one of the famous place in Kuching. Wow! I am excited because it has been ages since the last time I sang (psst, not that I can sing that well).

Little J will follow her aunty. Thank you so much. If not for her, I would not be able to take time off and go out at night. Yes, I will treat her to breakfast tomorrow as an appreciation.

As for Little J, she did not take any nap the whole day today. Wow! I never know where she got all those energy from at such young age. But I believe that she will doze off pretty early tonight. Usually her bedtime is around 9something, but I expect her to sleep before 830pm tonight. Once she put into bed, then me and Big J will sneak out for a birthday party……Chow!

Ready in 2010

Just hear good news from Big J today, that our house would be completed in 2010. Er, that would be 2 years from now. Don't know it would be ready early, middle or end of 2010, but I guess with the speed of the developer, I can expect it to be ready by mid-2010.
As for now, we are comfortable staying at in-law's house. Little J will be around 4 years old when move into the new house.

She is crankier

I think Little J is very cranky lately, always throw tantrum around when things did go her way. For example, when it is time for her bed and she doesn’t want to bug from her place, watching television at night. She will scream, cry, scratch and kick when you carry her up to the bedroom. Gosh! What is happening to her??

Now I am crankier than her because of her behaviour. Don’t know till when I can keep my cool if she continues like that.

1,2,3

My Little J knows how to say few Malay words, much to my surprise. She spoke her first Malay words on Saturday night while we were on the way to a shopping centre. Just out of sudden, she bursts "Satu, Dua, Tiga, Empat, Lima' in perfection. And you know the rest, we (my parents and sis) laughed till our stomaches cramp! Just couldnt believe our ears.

It's Sunday!

Yes, Big J is coming back today. I miss him a lot! ;p

Big J is having good time in Redang since Friday, having a training there. When mention the name Redang, it reminded me of our honeymoon in 2005. How times flied! I miss Redang very much, its beautiful ocean, sandy beach and the wild nature surrounding the island. We are making a pledge to visit Redang someday, maybe bringing our children together and showing them the place where their parents having their honeymoon. *wink* Maybe a 2nd honeymoon?

Ways to win his mates

Your boyfriend has many buddies, they may don’t like on first impression or ignore you as to them, they think you are hijacking their buddy away on Friday nights for your self. No matter how much you dislike his buddies, or how immature their behaviour is, the truth is that his buddies are there to stay. Find ways to get along with them. You will never get rid of them, so instead find a way to get them on your side.

1. Talk about sports. Most men love football. Read the sports pages regularly so you are updated and know what is going on
2. Ask if they can make you a copy of their favourite CD even you don’t like it
3. Strike a friendship with their girlfriends so you don’t feel left out and a part of the gang
4. Ask them questions about them to show you care and want to know them well
5. Offer to sit in the backseat every now and then, to show you are not possessive about being next you your boyfriend
6. Tell them how lucky your boyfriend are to have them and they are a good bunch of guys
7. Ask advices from them on what present should you get for your boyfriend on his birthday or other special occasion

Good luck!

Days of absenteeism

It has been many days since my last post. I was down with sore throat. I got it from Big J. He was sick after back from KL last week. He has yet to recover, but he is flying to Peninsular today for a management training in Redang.

Little J is getting better, thank god but she still have running nose occasionally. We have problem feeding her medicine, need 1 person to hold her and other to pump the syrup into her mouth. I am controlling her intake, not to give her anymore Vitagen and cold drink. And restricting her bath time too. Every time she is taking her bath, she will take long time in the bathroom, playing with the water. Sometime she will lie down on the floor and imitate swimming style!! *laugh* Wait till she is 3 or 4 years old, then daddy and mummy will enroll her in swimming class.

As for me, I have sore throat since Tuesday and it is kind of tiring to look after a sick child and a tired hubby. When I have sore throat, coughing and flu will come hand in hand. Sigh! How come even when Little J is sick, she is still that active and don’t want to sleep earlier at night? While both parents lay down half death on the bed, she still can jump on the bed and irritate you.

So, those are some little update from me. Not so much on blog hopping lately as I were lazy and not up to doing it. Hubby took the notebook to work, so I don’t have any notebook to access internet too. Don’t worry, once I recover, I will visit your blogs and read all the posts. Till then!

Both is sick!

Big J is sick, too much drink over in KL!! ;p Yeah, sore throat and everything that follow. Little J is also sick, having a mild cough and running nose. She has a tantrum too lately, I dont know why but she is becoming a cry baby. A little bit of thing she will cry. When she cried too much, she will start to vomit out. Sigh!
I have to take care of two people here (although I can trust the big baby to look after himself better)! Just concern on whether he will recover for his trip to Redang which is on this Thursday. Sigh!

On the run

Big J will be on the run for a week, so me and Little J would not be seeing him much. He will be going to KL on 27th, attending a costume party organized by his company the next evening. Isn’t it fun? Costume party is not that common here. I understand costume-rental companies in West Malaysia are making good money by renting their costumes to customers, as costume party cum dinner is pretty happening.

Big J will be going as Chow Yun Fat’s character in Pirates of the Caribbean, as the theme for the night is pirate night. Hope he remember to take photographs of himself as I told him to show me his makeover in the pirate suit. *wink*

Then on 29th he will be flying back, but will be flying again on 3 July to attend team building in Redang! Gosh! Now I am jealous. *laugh*

She has mood too

After having breakfast and bidding her grandpa goodbye, Little J’s mood turned 360 degree from happy to solemn. She already has a mood swing while we were having breakfast at the coffee shop. She suddenly not in good mood and keep saying she wanted to go home.

I was working on today and Big J has an outing with his friend, so we are sending her to baby sitter’s house. She knew that we are going to send her there, so she keeps mumbling she wanted to go home. Her solemn self continued throughout the trip to her baby sitter’s house, she kept quiet in the car. Poor gal! I guess she was really not wanted to go to her baby sitter’s house. To comfort her, I told her that chieh chieh (big sister) are waiting for her to play and watch tv together at aunty’s house.

When we reached there, Little J just stepped out from the car and walked straight to the house without looking back and saying good bye to us. Huh? Now that an attitude!

Luckily she was in good mood to see us when we came to pick her up in the evening. Well, I guess everyone has a moody day sometimes and that apply to a 2 years old plus child too!

1st big screen experience

we brought Little J to her 1st cinema experience and what a day it was! Since I am not working today, we decided to catch the "Kung Fu Panda". I told Little J that there will be a big screen in front of her with other people and children watching with her too! ;p

We catched the 1130am movie and guess what!! When we sat down at our respective seat, my little gal became sleepy! Must be because of woking up earlier today and a good morning walk at the park this morning, made her tired and dozed off. So she slept for almost 1 hour and me and Big J enjoyed our cartoon very much. A very entertaining cartoon indeeed. Little J only wake up, just in time for the fighting session of the Kung Fu Panda and the bad guy. Anyway, so much for her 1st time, but I guess there will be more outing to the cinema with many cartoon movies coming soon. :)

Pay time

We received notice from the developer on paying 10% of the original purchase price few days ago! Yes! Our house's foundation is under way and we have to start paying the house loan. Meaning that me and Big J has to sweat and start paying up!
With everything increase from food, petrol to raw materials, house prices are increasing by 40% too! What a drastic increase. Very unlucky for those that thinking of getting a house now. Even with the money that we save, it is never sufficient in the future. The amount we put aside for furniture and extension work for the house is not enough with everything increase in price! Sigh! We are going into another major recession like what we had been through in 1990s. I remember that time when I was in my final year in college. I just couldnt afford to go overseas to complete my study, but fortunately with the fund that my parents have allocated, I barely passed and obtained my degree in West Malaysia.
Now 10 years later, I am facing another inflation, which I think pretty bad. Maybe because that I am earner rather than 10 years ago, I was a spender. Now that I earn money, I can feel that money is never enough and hard to earn. Now I know what we had gone through in the 1990s!

Clearing some stuff away

We have moved some of our stuff away from the living room! Finally! I have always wanted to do something about Little J's play pen and gifts from my SIL.
Since three of us woke up very early today, I decided to get Big J to help me to move those stuff to my parents' place. They have agreed to "loan" us some space for the stuff. Before someone complained that those stuff are " getting out of the way" and left there, we better move them out of the sight! *wink* So we move the rattan play pen and boxes of gifts and store them away at one of the room in my parents' house till we move into the new house, which I hope would be completed by next year. Unfortunately our house construction has yet started, I am skeptical that it will be ready by end of next year.

Stay here

We have decided to stay instead of going to West Malaysia. Big J has a better job offer here. The company counter-proposed and came to a better arrangement with Big J. So, we are not going to Penang as mentioned few months ago in my blog.

I would love to go to Penang as I heard of its friendlier people, delicious local food and nice shopping malls. The first and last time I been there was during my college times. I was wandering around leisurely with few friends. We only stayed for 2 nights in Penang, but we did not miss the chance to visit the Thai temples, Penang Hill and Batu Feringghi, taste Penang noodle and stroll along the beaches.

I hope I would be visiting Penang soon.

Cook to your man's heart

Like the old saying, food is the ingredient to your man’s heart. There is nothing more meaningful for the coming Father’s Day to serve your husband his favourite dish on that day. I am sure your husband will be very pleased to see the table full of food.

Not only for special occasion, once a while you can surprise your husband (or boyfriend) with nice cooking too. When they least expect it, that is where the surprise begins.

A journey of Life

Today marking our 4th Anniversary together as husband and wife. Let’s walk down the journey of life together and celebrate many anniversaries and celebrations ahead of us.

Let the world stop turning,
Let the sun stop burning,
Let them tell me love's not worth going through.
If it all falls apart, I will know deep in my heart,
The only dream that mattered had come true ...
In this life I was loved by you.

She is having a nightmare

It was a long Sunday yesterday, hardly rest the whole day. Little J was not keen to take afternoon nap at all yesterday. She kept asking for her cartoon, so we have no choice but to let her win over the television channel. Once it was switched to cartoon channel, she will take the remote controller from our hand and put it away. *laugh*

In the evening after a long day, she finally dozed off around 9pm. There I am, spending times looking through my wardrobe, ironing office wears and cleaning out the messes around the house. Just when I finally settle down and call it a day around 10.00pm Little J woke up with a big cry!! She was wailing non-stop. She must have a nightmare!! And it must be the worst nightmare she has ever had!

She cried too much till she throws out her milk. Gosh!! So much for a night. I have to change her bedsheet and blanket where as Big J help to clean after her and change her pajamas. After all those changing, Little J still crying and kept asking her daddy to carry her around. Until we have no way to calm her down, Big J suggested on turning on cartoon for her! *snap* Yes, that was a good idea.

She requested for her favourite cartoon (Mickey Mouse), so we played newly-bought DVD for her. That calmed her down for the next 20 minutes. Eventually Big J tired out and dozed off before Little J willingly climb to her own bed and sleep with the DVD in her hand. *wink*

Take a Peek

Just taking a peek at the live prawns and fishes in the coffee shop! I can't help myself not to look at those sea creatures! *wink* And yes, mummy was taking a candid shot of me again. This photo was taken yesterday when we had our dinner for the "Dumpling Festival".

What I miss

After 4 days in absence, I do miss Little J. It was the longest week of my life, having Little J out of my sight. I still feel guilty of leaving her behind in Kuching, so I bought a lot of clothing, shoes and DVDs for her. As a compensation for not bringing her with me.
I promise myself that the next time I am going to KL, I will bring her with me. Maybe bring her to Sunway Lagoon theme park. Talking about theme park, the last time I been there was during my college day. That was more than 10 years ago! Gosh! How time flies.
Now it would be a foolish excuse to go back there, as I am "old" aunty. Hahahaha! So a good and reasonable excuse by saying "I will bring Little J to play at Sunway Lagoon". Correct?
As for Little J, when we picked her up yesterday she did not look happy to see us. Is it because she feels that we left her and she did not eager to meet us? Oh boy! I hope not.
Once we reached home, she immediately went to the bedroom and played and tossed on her bed. I guess she miss us after all. Or rather her home! :)

A visit to doctor

Little J had her Meninpococus vaccination last night. I brought her myself since Big J was not feeling well last night.

As usual, her mood was fine when I told her she is going for her injection and at the clinic. She played the slide and toys in the clinic, did not aware of what was going to happen next. However, once we were inside the doctor's room, she immediately remember why and where she was! Oh boy! She started to screamed and cried at the door step, asking me to "open the door".
What a sight! The whole clinic filled with her cries. She did not want to be calm, I had to hold her with one nurse holding her leg and doctor inject at her buttock. The ordeal did not end there, she wailed once we out from the doctor's room, pointing to her buttock and said "buttock pain".
I hate bringing Little J to clinic by myself. At least with Big J around, he can help to pacify and calm her down. Nothing can calm her down even when nurse offered her some stickers and toys. She just continue with her wail. The next round would be next month. Her 3rd Japanese Encephalitis vaccine.

I am crack!

I thought making online tickets booking is easy and hassle-free, but it is not! It turns out to be long and tedious, especially filling all the particulars. Maybe I am not the patient type of person. I hate filling those forms, and now not to mention e-forms!!

I was making online flight booking for myself, while Big J commented on going directly to my sister's travel agents or MAS counter to book. I told Big J booking online is cheaper than going to the counter. Don't you think so?? Anyway, it took me nearly 1 hours to make and confirm online ticket. Sigh! Next time, I will get my sis to help to book. I do not need to go through all those headache-causing online pages.
Big J is going to KL soon to attend his sales talk. So, I took the opportunity to follow him too. Excuses, just want to take some break away from work! *wink* What ever, I am going to be on my own and Big J will be busy attending his talks!

Go shopping.....mummy buy

She will keep mumbling “go shopping” to everyone that she meets in the house every day. During the holidays, she will ask her parents to go shopping. When in the car, she would say to me “go shopping”. *Faint*

Do all kids love to go for walk or shopping? My Little J does enjoy walking and window shopping. Then when ever we buy anything for her, she will remember who bought what and will say “daddy buy”, “mummy buy” or “ah ma buy” the next round she uses that particular item.

She loves to watch Mickey Mouse Club House, I think she has become a loyal fan. I just bought her a Mickey Mouse colouring book from Popular Book. She will say to her aunt that the book “mummy buy one”

When is the right time?

We were (still are) debating when to enroll Little J to taska. To my understanding, some taska do accept 2 years old toddlers. Big J is not keen to put her in early, maybe only send her when she reaches 3 years old.

We have no complaints about her baby sitter. Little J has been taken care by her when she was 10 months old baby. Little J is the only children she cares for. We are comfortable with this 1-to-1 basis.

However my concern is that there is not much exposure to other children of her age or similar. Little J seldom mixes with other children. She has no fear of strangers, I guess been surrounded by adults make her comfortable with them. When it comes to children, she is reluctant to play with them. She does have her curiosity, but would not get near them easily. It takes much effort to persuade her to greet other children. She has no problem with baby as she adores them.

So you see, I am hoping that by getting Little J to taska at earlier age, she can adapt to the environment of having other children around her. However if she is not ready, I would not want to enroll her in too. Only when she is ready, comfortable and independent enough, we shall let her try the taska life.

Then the next issue comes. To enroll full or half day?? Sigh! Headache again……

A never ending love

Most of the times when we talked about love, we always assume the loves that a man and a woman have. What about fatherly and motherly love? Mother's Day may have passed, but do not forget about Father's Day which is coming soon in June.
Although Little J never close to her dad, I knew deep down in my heart that she does love him. Although we asked her to say "Daddy, I love you", she never want to say it to him. However there was one time when she just woke up from her nap and said "Daddy I love you". Unfortunately Big J hasnt wake up yet that time to hear the words. Nevertheless he was happy when I told her about it afterward.
A parent's love to a child is undeniable one of the most precious love. You will never fall out of love with your children. Whether they are bad or done anything that cause grievances to you, you never let down on them and always love them. You will shelter them from rain and sun and hold the armor when they are in trouble.
As for Big J and Little J's story, Little J is still young and have yet to accept her dad wholly. She still very much attached (shall I say "stick to me like glue") at home. Where ever I go, she follow close behind. I hardly can do much thing with her tugging along. Maybe because of the less time spend together between Big J and Little J. However Big J now is much freer, and have been staying at home more often. He has quit his job, but will only join another company next month. So more time at home, more time with Little J. Hopefully she will get used to having her dad around and they become closer. :)

Baby, love me please

Both daddy and daughter will have a scuffle every morning and evenings, and it has become a daily routine for both. Big J will ask Little J to give him a hug or kiss, and she will run away. Sometimes both will have a “cat-and-mouse chase” around the house.

Sometimes daddy will just pick her up and hug her. Daughter will struggle in his arm and shout to be released. “Don’t want, don’t want”. Poor dad! He feels like his daughter does not love him that much. I told Big J to be patient. He needs to spend more time with Little J, play with her. Give her more time to love her daddy.

Shorter hair

Little J just got her hair cut. I like it, she looks much more active and alert in this new look. *wink*

I never like to bring Little J for her hair cut. It was a dragging experience as she fidgets and would not be still for a second to have her hair cut. To have her hair cut, we will have to hold her in our arms and let them do the job with hair all over us. At least she did not cry. She turns out to be happy with her new look although once a while she will ask for her hair to be tied up by showing us her hair bands and accessories.

Sticking matter

When there is a chance, Little J would not miss pulling out some tricks to impress you. She loves to take out those tiny stickers that placed on the imported fruits such as apples and oranges.

She was up to her sticking trick again last weekend in the car! After peeling off those stickers on the fruits she placed the stickers one by one on her leg, then she will count them. Whether it is one or five stickers, she will count “1, 2, 3, 4”. Lol! After finished counting, she will stick those stickers onto the fruits one by one, then start to peel them off again. There she goes again.
